Do you enjoy team sports, extreme sports, outdoor sports, or winning? Learn about and participate in these types of activities and more! This interactive, highly animated course will help you learn safety rules for exercise, how to improve your skills, and how to push yourself to reach a goal. It will also provide an overview of many dual, team, extreme, and outdoor sports. Other topics you will explore include practicing game strategy to improve your chance of winning in competition, improving your sport skill and performance, diversity in sports, nutrition, peer pressure, and choices. You will keep a log of your activities and earn an award through the Presidential Fitness Challenge. You will also complete a few projects as you learn about yourself, your fitness, and the world around you. If you are open to trying new activities, this course is for you!

Besides engaging students in challenging curriculum, FLVS guides students to reflect on their learning and evaluate their progress through a variety of assessments. Assessments can be in the form of self-checks, activity logs, fitness tests, multiple-choice questions, writing assignments, projects, Discussion-Based Assessments, collaboration activities, and discussions. Instructors evaluate progress and provide interventions through the variety of assessments built into a course, as well as through contact with the student in other venues.
