Indiana Virtual will abide by the student privacy guidelines set forth by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). The following persons have access to student records:
- Indiana Virtual School Board Members
- INVS administrative team and professional staff of the school (e.g., Instructors, Guidance Counselors, the General Counsel, etc.)
- Other appropriate support staff and professionals who have a legitimate educational or legal interest in student records as defined by the Indiana Department of Education
In accordance with Indiana Department of Education policy, Indiana Virtual School will provide an academic transcript upon request of another school and/or the student's legal guardian.
In accordance with state and federal privacy laws, students aged 18 or older may transfer certain rights related to their academic records.
No member of the Indiana Virtual School staff is authorized to release student information without the written permission of the student's legal guardian or approval of the INVS Director.
Names, images, and/or course work of students will not be published in print, video/film, or on our website without written student and parent/guardian consent.
All INVS students are provided a unique password to access online courses. It is the student's responsibility to keep his/her password in confidence.
