Indiana Virtual School is committed to delivering a high quality, technology-based education that provides both the inquiry skills and knowledge that students need for success in the 21st century. The vision of INVS is to transform education one student at a time. School Leader

Purpose:

Provides general coordination of the school educational program; ensures that it is compatible with State and Federal guidelines, as well as INVS/IVPA strategic plan, directives and policies.

  • Participates in the preparation of state and local reports, records, lists, and all other required information and data.
  • Basic knowledge of developing Career Concentrators
  • Ensures compliance with record keeping regulations and requirements.
  • Serves as a resource for Student Services Representatives in the evaluation of transcripts for student enrollment; makes scheduling recommendations; reviews students for meeting the graduation requirements for the state of Indiana.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Graduation Pathways Options for graduation.
  • Provides input regarding curriculum selection; gathers and evaluates recommendations; supports the decision-making process.
  • Guides and assists with the development of plans to improve student achievement and school accountability.
  • Collaborates with the principal of INVS/IVPA for the proper placement of students into the program/school.
  • Supports and guides in the implementation of a comprehensive guidance program.
  • Provides oversight of instructors; participates in the selection of instructors, monitors performance, conducts evaluations consistent with the RISE and iNACOL rubrics, identifies potential areas for professional development.
  • Represents the school at community, state and professional events.
  • Facilitates and develops training sessions for the Student Service Representative regarding academic-related areas (i.e. academic scheduling, diploma requirements, transcripts, etc.)
  • Participates in the preparation of reports, records, lists, and all other required information and data.
  • Handles student problems escalated by parents, teachers and student services representatives.
  • Participates in team meetings, student recruiting, marketing efforts, state testing, and other events.
  • Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline, as necessary, according to INVS policy and the due process rights of students.
  • Facilitates organizational efficiency; maintains inter-school communication and seeks assistance from support staff to improve performance.
  • Establishes and promotes a learning culture through a solid foundation of shared mission, vision, values, and goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    Master’s degree from an accredited university; Indiana Administrative Certification; 4-5 years of building-level leadership experience as an assistant principal, academic dean or principal.

    Academic & Career Advisor/STC (Independent Contractor)

    Assist with the review and analysis of high school transcripts and subsequent academic scheduling of students. Assist the school administration with the development of career pathways for students and advising students/guardians on those recommendations.

    Serve as a Site Test Coordinator (STC) by managing the state and local testing programs at designated testing sites. This may include training of school staff, distributing and collecting test materials, analyzing test results, and preparing test data in cooperation with the CTC for school administrators, the School Board, and IDOE reporting requirements.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree with state certification in guidance at the high school level and a minimum of three years of successful experience in 9-12 education
    • Training and experience with advising high school students academically
    • Training and experience in testing and data analysis
    • Training and experience with transcript analysis and student academic scheduling
    • Training and experience with the Graduation Pathways Options

    Instructor (Part-time)

    The Instructor is responsible for providing a student-centered educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and psychological growth. The position is responsible for organizing and implementing an instructional program in accordance with INVS policies that result in students achieving academic success. The Instructor is required to work collaboratively to plan, prepare, and implement instructional activities to engage and facilitate student success in a virtual environment. The Instructor tracks and analyzes student performance data and develops learning plans using resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. The Instructor is responsible for providing high quality assessment feedback so that students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for growth.

    Skills / Requirements

    • Online teaching experience preferred
    • Bachelor's Degree or higher
    • Valid Indiana Teaching Certificate
    • Teaching experience preferred
    • Indiana resident preferred
